A Night of Celebrating Hope | Fiesta of Hope 2024
On June 21st, 2024, Castaway Portland once again hosted Fiesta of Hope, an annual fundraiser integral to the mission of Adelante Mujeres. This vibrant event brought together a diverse and enthusiastic crowd united in their support for empowering Latine women and their families. The night was nothing short of magical, filled with energy, heartfelt moments, and a profound sense of solidarity.
Fiesta of Hope supports our essential programs, and we are thrilled to announce that we surpassed our goal, raising over $204,000. These funds will have a lasting impact, significantly bolstering our education programs, leadership and advocacy efforts, microenterprise initiatives, and health and wellness services. Every dollar donated reflects the generosity of our donors and their unwavering commitment to our mission. As we look to the future, we are excited about upcoming initiatives and events that will build on this momentum.
With 300 passionate supporters in attendance, the room was filled with a sense of pride and gratitude. The diversity and dedication of those present underscored the collective power of the community. Each attendee, through their presence and contributions, played a pivotal role in the event’s success.
The evening featured several standout moments. Lines Dance Academy kicked off the event with an electrifying performance that set an energetic tone. Our auctioneers from On Your Feet added excitement with a lively auction that played a crucial role in reaching our fundraising goals. DJ Clarissa from Brazil kept everyone dancing at the afterparty, celebrating the night’s successes and the strength of our community.
One of the most touching moments came from Reyna Lopez, PCUN Executive Director, whose heartfelt remarks resonated with everyone present. Her story, like many others, showcased the profound impact of our collective efforts. We were also honored to have Alma San Juan and Lucia Benavides, the stars of our Appeal Video, join us. Their incredible journeys—from volunteers to full-time employees—demonstrated the transformative impact of our organization in empowering Latine women to become leaders in their communities.
