Adelante Mujeres Receives Legal Accreditation: A Big Win for Immigrants
We have reached an exciting milestone: recognition by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Access Programs! This means our attorney and accredited representatives can now provide vital immigration legal services to our community. It’s a huge step forward in helping Latine and immigrant families thrive.
How This Helps the Community
With this accreditation, Adelante Mujeres can:
Guide Immigration Applications: Support families with green card and citizenship applications, plus DACA renewals.
Make Legal Help Affordable: Offer services that won’t break the bank.
Grow Our Legal Team: The team currently includes lawyer Nanci Rios and accredited representative Cristina Delgado, with more staff training and support on the way.
Adelante Mujeres is state-funded and partners with Oregon Worker Relief’s Universal Representation program to make these services sustainable and accessible.
Why Immigrants Matter
Immigrants bring so much to our communities:
Economic Growth: Latine workers boost industries like agriculture, construction, and healthcare. Latina GDP is growing fast thanks to increased education, access to resources, and workforce participation—and we are proud to support Latina entrepreneurs in our community through our Empresas program.
Cultural Enrichment: Events like the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations at the Forest Grove and Cornelius Farmers Markets highlight the vibrancy of Latino culture, creating spaces where people of all backgrounds can come together for shared experiences.
Community Strength: Immigrants’ resilience inspires us all and strengthens our neighborhoods.
Celebrating Progress
Our new legal accreditation is more than a credential—it’s a lifeline for immigrant families navigating the legal system. It’s also a reminder of the power of investing in organizations that empower others.
Together, we can celebrate this win and continue to build a community where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, no matter where they’re from.
