Adelante Mujeres Partners with Washington County to Become a Business Recovery Center
Adelante Mujeres is joining forces with Washington County to become one of four Business Recovery Centers aimed at providing businesses in Washington County, Oregon with COVID-19 relief support. The funding comes from the County’s $104 million federal Coronavirus Relief Fund.
"All of our business community has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Maribel De Leon, Director of Microenterprise Programs at Adelante Mujeres. “A major step in helping business owners in these difficult times is to open our doors and let them know that they are all welcome.”
While the Adelante Mujeres Empresas Small Business Development Program specializes in supporting Latinx small businesses, the new Business Recovery Center will provide support to all businesses. “These centers, with their bilingual staff, will be ready to assist businesses in all industries and of all sizes,” says De Leon.
The Business Recovery Centers will be one-stop shops for business recovery. They will focus on providing small businesses with complimentary one-on-one technical assistance, information, and resources necessary to help owners stabilize and reopen their businesses.
On June 17th, local officials and Adelante Mujeres staff gathered in front of the Adelante Mujeres building in downtown Forest Grove to celebrate the opening of the new center.
The Business Recovery Center in Forest Grove is available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm for virtual appointments only currently. While the Forest Grove Center will be managed and staffed by Adelante Mujeres, the three other centers will be managed and staffed in partnership with the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce, Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce, and Tualatin Chamber of Commerce.
