We can't do this alone!
On January 9th, our staff, participants, and other community members packed City Hall and stood in solidarity to urge the Forest Grove City Council to designate Forest Grove a Sanctuary City.
In May, hundreds Forest Grove High School students staged a peaceful walkout to protest ongoing and powerful racism they were experiencing at school. Make a donation to help us build a community where all students can thrive in school.
Over the last few weeks, we worked tirelessly to encourage our City Council to make a statement that we care about each and every person in our community. We sent personal messages to our council members, wrote Op-Ed pieces for the local paper, and made many appeals to our network of supporters for help.
Despite our strong advocacy efforts and overwhelming community support, the Forest Grove City Council turned down the Sanctuary City Resolution drafted by Mayor Truax with a 3-3 vote.
In this harsh political climate, too many of our local public officials are unwilling to send a clear message that Forest Grove will stand up for the vulnerable Latino community.
This means that we need your help now more than ever.
We will continue to stand strongly and advocate for what we believe in, but we can't do it alone!
Make a gift today so that our voices will be heard.
Your donation will help us create a community where all families can thrive.
