2025 Legislative Agenda
The legislative session is the time when elected representatives come together to create, debate, and pass laws that impact our daily lives. It’s when decisions about funding for schools, healthcare, housing, and other important community needs are made. During this period, lawmakers listen to input from the public, advocate for policies, and work to address the challenges facing our state. It’s a critical opportunity for communities to make their voices heard and shape the future of Oregon.
In the 2025 Oregon Legislative Session, we are advocating for policies that align with our mission and the work we do in our community. The following highlights the bills we are championing and following organization-wide (though this list is not comprehensive and there are other legislative bills we support).
Food For All Oregonians (FFAO)
SB611
Food is a Human Right - Everyone in Oregon should have access to nutritious, culturally familiar food, regardless of where they were born. Our freedom, health, and ability to thrive depend on it. A state-funded program can ensure food access for all and eliminate immigration status as a barrier to nourishment and well-being in our communities.

Alivio Laboral de Oregon (OWR)
Investing in Oregon’s Workforce - The Oregon Worker Relief Fund provides essential financial support to immigrant workers facing economic hardship. Increasing its funding helps stabilize families, strengthen communities, and promote a more prosperous and inclusive economy for everyone in Oregon.
As part of the fund, we support the “Fair Shot for All” proposal which unites those most impacted by systemic inequalities: Black, Indigenous, Latine, and other communities of color; LGBTQ+ people; women; immigrants; and working families. Our strength lies in the diversity of our communities and our shared vision for justice and opportunity.

Move Oregon Forward
Advancing in Transportation Justice - Healthy, affordable, and thriving communities run on their transportation: streets that youth can cross safely to school, where older adults can get their daily exercise, people using mobility devices can get everywhere they need to go, and transit gets you there and back on time. Oregon must ensure that every dollar delivers on our climate and air quality goals while expanding safe, financially sustainable, and well-maintained transportation choices for all Oregonians.

Oregon Partners for Education Justice (OPEJ)
Advancing in a just public education system for all students - These policies and investments include expanding access to high-quality and culturally relevant summer and after-school learning programs; holding Oregon’s K-12 system accountable to effectively and equitably improve student outcomes; and empowering statewide student success plans for impact.

Investing in Oregon’s Future — Every child deserves a strong start. Expanding early education, childcare, and family support ensures stability and well-being. Strengthening the childcare workforce, improving nutrition programs, and investing in maternal health create lasting impact.

Nonprofit Grant and Contract Modernization
SB602
Strengthening Oregon’s Nonprofits — Nonprofits are essential to Oregon’s communities, providing housing, food assistance, mental health care, and emergency response. Yet, outdated grant and contracting systems strain their ability to operate efficiently and offer competitive wages. Modernizing these systems will ensure nonprofits can continue delivering vital services and supporting those in need.
